About us.

Audrey McCann, Founder

I’m Audrey McCann and I am a loving, professional animal caretaker specializing in Dog Boarding and weekly dog Play Care. I’m a 6th generation native Californian, born in Palo Alto, where I raised my son and daughter.  For nearly 8 years, I’ve been lucky to call beautiful Pescadero home.  I graduated from Santa Clara University with a degree in Combined Sciences, but I have always been drawn to nature and working with animals, particularly dogs.  I now have my dream job and am living my dream life, for which I’m very grateful.  My home is located on 10 acres, with two huge fenced-in pastures for my furry clients to romp in and play.  My hens have a fenced-in range area, which is surrounded by beautiful, vast fields of various agriculture overlooking the beautiful Pacific Ocean, which is within walking distance.  It is truly paradise here.  I have two wonderful rescue cats, Fergus and Fiona, and my darling pup Rosie. I adopted Rosie from a wonderful rescue organization in April, 2014.  She and her 10 newborn puppies were rescued, just days away from being euthanized and when she weaned her healthy pups I was the lucky one to become her lifelong guardian and companion.  Rosie is a 5 year old German Shepherd/Border Collie/American Bulldog mix.  She is kind, sweet, gentle and funny, the mascot of McCann’s Canine Care and my right hand!

I have twelve years’ experience working with dogs as a dog walker and trainer and have been offering play care and boarding services for the past eight years.  I am certified to give medication, including sub-cutaneous injections and am animal first aid certified.  My goal in life was to have a place where I could be in nature and provide a safe, loving, stable environment for dogs for socialization, play, and boarding while you are away, be it at work or travel, and to provide pup parents peace of mind that their fur baby is cared for and happy. I am so happy to be able to offer my services to you.  Rosie and I look forward to meeting you soon!

Why Choose McCann's?

I think choosing play care or boarding is more than just the price, although offering affordable rates is one of my objectives.  I also spend a lot of time getting to know each owner and dog to ensure the animals within my care are properly vaccinated and are not aggressive to provide a stable, fun environment for all dogs within my care.

I only take 6-8 dogs for boarding and only 8-10 dogs for play care so the dogs get very personal attention.  Take a look at the McCann’s Canine Care facilities, and our environment for other reasons why you might choose McCann’s Canine Care over another play care/boarding facility.
